WE JUST RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM A MEMBER OF THE SOUTH BEACH PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION (SBPOA), IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FL THAT “THREE DISSIDENT DIRECTORS OF SBPOA, CLAIMING TO REPRESENT ‘80%’ OF THE CONSTITUENCY OF THE ASSOCIATION, THREATEN TO WITHDRAW THEIR ASSOCIATIONS FROM THE SBPOA UNLESS THEY ARE IN CONTROL. THIS WOULD PRESUMABLY PRECIPITATE THE COLLAPSE OF OUR ORGANIZATION.”
This member offered the following evidence to the contrary:
Further, the member wrote: “Similarly, these three Members contribute about 25% of our annual budget.
We would certainly regret the loss of the Moorings Property Owners Association, the Sandpointe Property Owners Association, and the Seagrove Property Owners Association from our organization at the instigation of their self-appointed representatives on the SBPOA Board.
Has anyone actually considered the opinion of the elected representatives–the officers and directors of these associations–in making this decision?

It is also important to note that the Moorings of Vero Property Owners Association, Inc. (MPOA) is actually just an umbrella association for several property and condominium associations. The MPOA has no authority of its own to enforce covenants and deed restrictions on individual property owners. The real authority rests with the individual associations, as shown below with their corporate identity:
