WITH A KEEN INTEREST IN CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND LITERACY WE WANT TO PAY TRIBUTE TO THE 2016 GRADUATING CLASS OF THE INDIAN RIVER CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL (IRCHS), VERO BEACH, FLORIDA.

In this first piece we are recognizing the 2016 graduates by highlighting who they are, where they will be furthering their education, what fields they want to enter and notable scholastic achievements.

In Part Two we will highlight the special awards that were presented to these exceptional students at the IRCHS commencement exercises held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Vero Beach Performing Arts Center.

Jennifer Michelle Asselin, IRCHS 2016 Valedictorian will be attending the Calhoun Honors College at Clemson University where she will pursue her degree in engineering. Jennifer earned 23 college credits from Indian River State College, earned a diploma with AP distinction and is a Florida Academic Scholar.

Courtney Elice Brooks will be attending Florida State University where she will pursue her degree in Biology with a focus in medicine. Courtney earned an Associate Degree from Indian River State College prior to her high school graduation.

Jenna Gurklis will be attending Liberty University She is seeking a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders and will then continue working towards a Master’s degree in Speech Therapy. Jenna earned 41 college credits from Indian River State College, earned a diploma with Vocal Endorsement and is a Florida Medallion Scholar.

Taylor Leigh Ziegler will be attending the University of Florida where she will pursue a degree in Animal Science. She earned 33 college credits from Indian River State College.

Danielle Lynn Montgomery will be attending Florida State University where she will pursue a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Danielle earned an Associate’s Degree from Indian River State College. Danielle earned a diploma with Scholars Designation and is a Florida Academic Scholar.

Jane Maria Kramer will be attending the Florida Institute of Technology where she will pursue a degree in Engineering. Jane earned an Associate Degree from Indian River State College where she graduated with Honors totaling 76 college credits prior to her high school graduation. She is a Florida Medallion Scholar.

Isabella Nicole Degracia will be attending the University of North Florida where she will pursue a degree in sociology with a minor in criminal justice. She earned an Associate Degree from Indian River State College prior to her high school graduation. She is a Florida Medallion Scholar

Kara Mase Will be attending Florida State University where she will pursue her degree in Speech Therapy. She earned a diploma with Vocal Endorsement and is a Florida Medallion Scholar.

Avery Norman will be attending Hofstra University where she will pursue a degree in Theater with a minor in Political Science. Avery earned a diploma with Scholar Designation and AP Distinction

Yevgeniya Sophia Gilmore will be attending the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She will be majoring in International Relations with a focus in Global Business. She earned 36 college credits from Indian River State College, earned a diploma with Scholars Designation and AP Distinction. And she is a Florida Academic Scholar.

Amanda Farall Gard will be attending The University of Florida where she will major in telecommunications and minor in theater. Amanda earned 34 college credits from Indian River State College and a diploma with technical theater endorsement. She is a Florida Academic Scholar.

Jade Alora Bohse will be attending Georgia State University where she will pursue paralegal studies. Jade earned an Associate Degree from Indian River State College prior to her high school graduation.

Julia Pauline Dingee will be attending the University of North Florida where she will pursue a degree in Nursing. Julia earned a diploma with AP Distinction and is a Florida Academic Scholar.

Abigail Keithahn will be attending Liberty University where she will pursue a degree in Business. She earned an Associate Degree from Indian River State College prior to her high school graduation. She earned a diploma with Scholars Designation and is a Florida Medallion Scholar.

Damean Murphy Short Will be attending Stetson University. He earned 29 college credits from Indian River State College and he is a Florida Medallion Scholar.

Kyleigh Savoie will be attending the University of Central Florida. She will be studying Political Science and Sociology. She earned a diploma with Advanced Placement Distinction and Scholars Designation.

Massimiliano Acerbi is an international cultural exchange student from Italy. Massimiliano will continue his studies in Foreign Languages at the Liceo Linguistico La Manzoni in Milano, Italy.

Ryan Mitchel Adams will serve our country by enlisting in the United States Navy.

Sydney Madison Alvey will be attending Florida State University where she will pursue her degree in Biological Sciences with a focus in Pre-Medicine. Sydney earned 25 college credits from Indian River State College and earned a diploma with Scholars Designation.

Charline Angelet is an international cultural exchange student from Belgium. She will be returning to Belgium where she intends to enroll in the University of Gent. Charline will focus her studies in the field of medicine.

Natalia Arizpe will be attending Indian River State College where she will pursue an Associate in Arts degree in Digital Media with a minor in Graphic Design. She earned 10 college credits from Indian River State College and earned a diploma with Art Endorsement.

Aurora Simone Arrington will be attending Seton Hall University where she will pursue her degree in Biology with a focus in Molecular Biology. Aurora earned 28 college credits from Indian River State College and is a Florida Academic Scholar.

Aysha Norr Badr will be taking a gap year to begin the training process to become an author. She also is planning on exploring the world of Visual Arts.

Tristan Colette Banks will be attending Indian River State College for two years and then transfer to the United States Air Force.

Ryan Barhorst will be attending the University of Tampa where he was accepted into the Sykes College of Business Honors Program. Ryan earned 36 college credits from Indian River State College and is a Florida Medallion Scholar.

Cameron Michael Barnes Evans will be attending Indian River State College where he will pursue his Associate Arts Degree in Engineering. He then plans to transfer to a four-year university to finish his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Finnigan Matthew Barrett will be moving to California where he will immerse himself into the art community. Finn earned 19 college credits from Indian River State College and earned a diploma with Art Endorsement.

Brianna Nicole Bass will be attending Liberty University where she will pursue a degree in Social Science. Brianna earned 18 college credits from Indian River State College

Widley Bathelemy will be attending Indian River State College where he will pursue his Associate in Arts degree in Music and Business.

Abdul Jabar Ahmed Bell will be attending Indian River State College where he will pursue an Associate in Arts degree in Digital Media.

Zachary Richard Beneduce will be attending Florida Polytechnic University where he will pursue his degree in Engineering.

Vlad Stefan Bogdan Bradescu will be attending the University of South Carolina where he will pursue his degree in International Business. Vlad earned 79 college credits and an Associate Degree from Indian River State College prior to her high school graduation.

Deian Scott Braswell will serve our country by enlisting in the United States Army to pursue his career as a Combat Medic.

Cathrine Breiby is an international cultural exchange student from Norway. She will complete her final year of high school in Norway at the Hartvig Nissen School where she will focus her studies in the field of theater. She plans on attending college after her graduation to pursue a degree in Theater.

Brianna Kirsten Brodeur will be attending Savannah College of Art and Design where she will pursue her degree in Photography and Illustration. Brianna earned 3 college credits from Indian River State College and earned a diploma with Visual Arts Endorsement. She is a Gold Seal Vocational Scholar.

Nickeles Butler will be attending Indian River State College where he will pursue an Associate in Arts degree in digital media and art. Nickeles earned a diploma with Visual Arts endorsement.

Juan Pablo Cabrera will be attending Indian River State College where he will pursue his Associate in Science Degree in Dental Hygiene.

Alejandra Cadavid will be attending Indian River State College where she will pursue her Associate in Arts Degree in the pre-med/pre-vet/pre-physical therapy program. Alejandra earned a diploma with Scholars Designation.

Jonathan Capen will be attending the University of North Florida where he will pursue a degree in Bio-Medical Science. Jonathan earned a diploma with Instrumental Music Endorsement and is a Florida Medallion Scholar

Maxine Marienanne Cazeau graduated a semester early and is currently studying at Indian River State College where she is pursuing an Associate in Arts degree in pre-medicine. She will transfer to Kentucky Christian University and continue her studies in medicine and minor in accounting. She earned 15 college credits from Indian River State College.

Jordan Charles Chadwell will be attending Indian River State College where he will pursue his Associate in Science in Physical Therapy. Jordan earned 15 college credits from Indian River State College and a diploma with Scholars Designation.

Joshua Cintron will be attending Jacksonville University where he will pursue his degree in Dance Performance with a minor in Criminology. Joshua earned a diploma with Dance Endorsement.

Susan Joyce Concha will be continuing her career in the business world. Suzy is pursuing an opportunity to open her own jewelry business.

Michael Albert Darby will be attending Florida Southern College where he will pursue his degree in Musical Theater. Michael earned 19 college credits from Indian River State College and earned a diploma with Acting and Technical Theater Endorsement

Hugo De Carvalho is an international cultural exchange student from Italy. He will be attending Riverside College in California where he will pursue a degree in Business Management. Hugo will try out for the Riverside College Golf team.

Truman Alexey Dehn will be completing an Internship in Turin, Italy with a company that specializes in Brand Advertising. He hopes to attend a University in Milan where he will study International Marketing and Advertising. Truman earned 51 college credits from Indian River State College.

Aaron Dell will be attending Indian River State College where he will pursue his Associate in Arts degree in Business and Music. Aaron earned a diploma with Instrumental Music Endorsement.

Daria Nadine Denault will be attending Indian River State College where she will pursue her Associate in Science degree in Radiology. Daria earned 9 college credits from Indian River State College.

Letizia Di Rosa is an International Cultural Exchange Student from Italy. She will be attending the Universita de Cattolica del Sacro Cuore to pursue her degree in International Business.

Loren Nicole Emerick will be attending the University of North Florida where she will pursue a degree in English. Loren earned 12 college credits from Indian River State College.

Michaela Danielle Etter will complete her Associate Degree at Indian River State College. She will then transfer to a four-year University to major in resort and hospitality management. She earned 3 college credits from Indian River State College.

Wyatt Matthew Eubanks will be attending Indian River State College where he will pursue an Associate in Art degree in Biology. Wyatt earned 3 college credits from Indian River State College and he earned a diploma with vocal performance endorsement.

Tiffany Gaspard is an International Cultural Exchange Student from Belgium. Upon her return to Belgium she will pursue studies in the field of Tourism.

Morgan was the recipient of the Alpha Award which recognizes one individual from each graduating class who exemplifies the mission of Indian River Charter High School. Ting-Wei (Rachel) Lu is an international exchange student from Taiwan who has completed all State Requirements to earn a Florida High School Diploma. She will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design and will pursue a degree in Film and Television.

Kyle James MacWilliam will be attending the University of North Florida where he will pursue a degree in English with a minor in Spanish. Kyle earned 45 college credits from Indian River State College.

Haley Elizabeth Martin will be attending Tallahassee Community College then transferring to Florida State University where she will pursue a degree in Political Science. Haley earned 3 college credits from Indian River State College.

Erin Mays will be attending Liberty University where she will be pursue a degree in Zoology. Erin earned 36 college credits from Indian River State College and a Diploma with Visual Art Endorsement.

Lorenzo Mazza is an International Cultural Exchange Student from Italy. Lorenzo will be continuing his high school studies in Italy where he will concentrate on the studies of Audio Engineering.

Connor Jordan McCollum will be attending Indian River State College to pursue an Associate in Arts degree in Business Management. Connor earned 12 college credits from Indian River State College and a diploma with Scholars Designation.

Sedgrick Bernard McGriff Jr. will continue in the workforce while attending Indian River State College where he will pursue an Associate in Arts Degree in Audio Engineering.

Emilia Grae Murillo will be attending Palm Beach Atlantic University where she will pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Nursing. Emilia earned 39 college credits from Indian River State College and earned a diploma with Dance Endorsement.

William Magnus Oehman is an International Cultural Exchange student from Sweden. He will return home to finish his last year of high school at the Wisby Gymnasiet in Gotland, Sweden. He will return to the United States to attend a University to pursue a degree in Economics and Law and become a member of a University Golf Team.

Gessner Michael Pantley will attend Indian River State College for two years and then transfer to Florida Technical College to pursue a degree in Computer Engineering.

Jon Luke Pereira will be attending Indian River State College to pursue an Associate in Arts degree in Engineering.

Emily Britt Peterson will be attending the University of South Florida where she will pursue a degree in Biomedical Science with a minor in Biomedical Anthropology. Emily earned 73 college credits and an Associates Degree from Indian River State College prior to high school graduation. She earned a diploma with Scholars Designation and is a Florida Academic Scholar.

Samantha Rose Petrucci will be attending Indian River State College. Samantha earned a diploma with Art Endorsement. She is a Gold Seal Vocational Scholar.

Fabiola Regis will be attending Johnson and Wales University in North Miami. She will pursue a degree in Criminal Justice. She earned 9 college credits from Indian River State College.

Samuel David Rexford will be attending Indian River State College where he will pursue an Associate in Arts degree in Secondary Education. He will then transfer to a 4 year college to pursue degree in Social Studies Education. He earned 15 college credits from Indian River State College.

Alyssa Paige Thomas will be attending Tallahassee Community College and then transfer to Florida State University where she will pursue a degree in Science to be a Pediatrician.

Linh Phuong Tran is an International Exchange Student from Vietnam who has completed all State Requirements to earn a Florida High School Diploma. She will attend Ocean County College in New Jersey where she will pursue a degree in Pharmacology.

Jillian Carlene Tuscher Melvan will be attending the University of Florida to pursue a degree in Biomedical Science.

Jose Luis Velazquez will be joining the workforce. He earned 6 college credits from Indian River State College.

Camilla Vianini is an International Exchange Student from Italy who has completed all State Requirements to earn a Florida High School Diploma. Jackson Samuel Waybright will be attending Indian River State College where he will pursue an Associate in Arts degree in Building Construction Technology and Business.

Paris Rayanna Welker-Widell will be attending The King’s College of New York City. She will pursue a degree in Business Management with a minor in Culture and The Arts.
