The Seal level (Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum) is determined by how much information an organization has shared. It is not a rating or endorsement by GuideStar.
GuideStar is not a watchdog and they do not evaluate nonprofits. Their goal is to provide unbiased information to help donors and key stakeholders make educated decisions about nonprofits and the work they do.
GuideStar was founded in 1994 to revolutionize philanthropy and nonprofit practice by providing information that advances transparency.  It is a measure of a nonprofit organization demonstrating their commitment to transparency while telling their real stories.
GuideStar collects, organizes and presents the key pieces of information about nonprofits; in an easy-to-understand format, while remaining neutral.
