To get into the holiday spirit, I decided to interview teachers and staff at my school about their favorite Thanksgiving traditions. What I found was surprising!
For starters, Ms. Davis, a fifth- grade teacher, likes to go deer hunting. I knew she loved Math…but hunting?
Funny enough, most of the teachers and staff that I interviewed liked to not just watch football, but play it as well. Almost all teachers were thankful for their families and friends. Ms. Davis is thankful for her children’s health. Mrs. Newman is thankful for her puppies that she owns. Personally, I’m thankful for my family, friends, and my electronics that I own.
I also took polls on what people ate for Thanksgiving. Out of 15 people, only five liked to eat ham while the rest ate turkey. 11 out of 15 like to eat pumpkin pie, while others preferred apple pie.
The most exciting thing that I found out was that nine-people decided on mashed potatoes and nine decided on stuffing.
I know that I said that there were 15 people that I interviewed, but others wanted to be interviewed, as well. I just described the findings of the teacher and staff so let’s see what the kids have to say about this! As far as food, ironically, the kids agreed with the teachers. Turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie were the ultimate favorites.
Kids, like the adults, were very thankful for their families and friends. However, unlike the adults, they were thankful for their electronics.
Even if you’re a football loving adult or a technology crazed kid, we all have one thing in common. We love and are loved by our families and our friends look out for and support us. Just think for a moment if there was no more Thanksgiving.
