June 10, 2015 Letter From Indian River County To Florida Development Finance Corporation

IRC County Attorney Dylan Reingold
On June 10 County Attorney Dylan Reingold sent a letter to Bill Spivey, Executive Director of the Florida Development Finance Corporation, in which he said:
“Today, I am writing to you on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County concerning the upcoming Florida Development Finance Corporation meeting to consider the adoption of a resolution to authorize the issuance of $ 1.75 billion of bonds to finance the proposed All Aboard Florida project.
As you know, the Florida Development Finance Corporation meeting was initially scheduled for May 28th at 9:00 a.m. to 5: p.m. but was cancelled at the request of the applicant.  On June 1st, the meeting was then re-scheduled for June 10th from 3:00 p.m. to 6: p.m.  However, on Friday last week, the Florida Development Corporation cancelled the June 10th meeting.
As you work with the Florida Development Finance Corporation to re-schedule the next meeting, I respectfully request that the groups opposed to the All Aboard Florida project be afforded the same notice and opportunity to speak as that provided to the applicant.  All parties should be on a level playing field.  Specifically, I request that the Florida Development Finance Corporation provide all interested parties with at least 30 days’ notice of the next Florida Development Finance Corporation meeting.”
